Australian Schools-Summer Vacation

The Summer vacation, officially starting from December to late January, is the longest vacation for Australian school students. It is about six weeks long.

The dates for the school holidays are determined by each state's Board of Education. Then comes the Easter two week break, followed closely by the July and September breaks.

However the vacation dates for private students may vary due to the longer teaching hours during the school term.
